Drake's Story
Little "D" Designs handcrafts traditional style beaded jewelry and a new line of hunting and wildlife jewelry. The necklaces, bracelets and earrings are created with natural stone, glass, antler, horn and bone beads. Custom designed hunting and wildlife pewter pendants accent many of the pieces. Designs are available for both men and women. Little “D” Designs produces special jewelry pieces handmade in the USA and are inspired by Drake Taylor, a very unique and special person.
Drake has a rare form of dwarfism called Osteodysplastic Primordial Dwarfism (MOPD type 2) and has been diagnosed with MoyaMoya, a rare blood vessel disorder of the brain. Jewelry making has allowed Drake to explore and excel in his creative spirit as he over comes his physical and cognitive challenges.
Drake has been designing and making jewelry since 2007. He is involved in selecting the materials and designing the creations. Drake creates many of the pieces himself. An assistant then helps him finish the fasteners on the jewelry due to his lack of hand strength.
Making jewelry is one of his favorite activities along with hunting, painting and Special Olympics Sports. Drake’s spirit and determination have helped him overcome many challenges. He is an Illinois 4-H State Award winner with his jewelry and truly enjoys creating new designs. He is very excited about his new line of hunting jewelry.

Two of Drake’s favorite companies in the hunting industry that have personally supported his favorite sport are TenPoint Crossbows and Lone Wolf Portable Treestands. Tenpoint Crossbows manufactured a custom crossbow for Drake that has landed him many successful hunts including his first successfully turkey hunt with Jared Schlipf, co-owner of Lone Wolf. Drake & Little “D” Designs has custom crafted a unique line of LONE WOLF jewelry available on their website.
Drake has also made custom jewelry for the Yeti’s Ultimate Hunt TV Show on the Sportsman Channel and all of the proceeds from this jewelry in 2011 will be donated to the ASL Cancer Research Fund. Drake has joined with hosts Michele Eichler and Rob Evans along with other celebrity guests to help find a cure for cancer through the funding of the excellent research of Dr. Leonard and Dr. Saltzman.
